Introduction

Korean Air is the flag carrier of South Korea, with its headquarters located in Gonghang-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul. It's also a member of SkyTeam and operates a large number of long-haul flights to Europe, North America and Asia. The airline has a good reputation for service and food.

Check-In Experience

First things first: if you're flying on Korean Air, you will be checking in at the airport. This can be a daunting process for some, but it's really not that bad. You'll want to arrive at least two hours before your flight departs so that there is enough time for any problems or delays to pop up without creating problems for other passengers.

If possible, try to use Korean Air's self check-in program (which is available online and through their app) instead of standing in line at the ticket counter. If this isn't an option, then don't worry---it's a simple process once you get there! Just follow these steps:

  • Find out which terminal you need based on where your flight is originating from and going to; terminals A through D are used throughout Incheon International Airport (ICN), but terminals 1 through 4 are only used by Asiana Airlines and SkyTeam partners such as Aeroflot Russian Airlines, Hainan Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Vietnam Airlines

Lounge Experience

The lounge was located in Terminal 2, on the 2nd floor (of 3).

While there were plenty of amenities to keep you occupied, I found that my favorite thing about this lounge was its location. Because it's so close to the gate and not many people are able to make use of it due to low traffic at this time of day, it doesn't feel crowded or busy---it feels like a little escape from reality!

The food and drink selection was pretty standard for an airport lounge: sandwiches, salads and fruit at lunchtime; pasta dishes at dinner time. It wasn't gourmet but it was tasty enough to fill me up before boarding my flight later in the evening. The bar area had wines available by the glass if you wanted something more than beer or soft drinks as well as some small snacks like nuts/seeds etc that could be purchased separately if desired.

The Seat and Cabin

The seat is wide, comfortable and has good storage. The cabin has a modern feel, with leather seats and plenty of overhead storage space for all your carry on items. You will also be provided with a pillow and blanket, or you can choose from the menu that has been provided for such things as pillows and blankets. The amenity kit is of good quality, although it's worth noting that this was not included in my flight review experience because they weren't available on all flights yet (they should be soon). The seat is angled so you can sit back in one place while working on the laptop or watch a movie comfortably without having to move around too much. There is also power outlet and USB port in the seat which makes it easy to charge your devices during the flight

Korean Air Business Class Amenity Kit

Every Korean Air business class passenger receives a small tote bag containing an amenity kit.

An amenity kit is a small bag, usually with a zipper closure, that contains items for use during your flight and upon arrival at your destination. These items can include anything from toothpaste and toothbrushes to razors, deodorant, lotions, and mouthwash. The contents of the amenity kit vary by airline but tend to be limited in size so they're easy to carry onboard.

Korean Air's amenity kits are good examples of what you would expect out of an airline-branded kit---they come in simple black drawstring bags with no branding other than "business class" printed on them (in Korean). Inside there are two compartments: one contains luxury toiletries like Aesop hand moisturizer and Bulgari body wash while the other holds more practical items like socks and eyeshades that passengers might need during their flight or after arrival when jetlag has set in.

Korean Business Class Food and Drink

The food was good, the drinks were good, and both were served with a smile on the face of each flight attendant. That's not to say that the food was five-star Michelin quality---it wasn't---but it was tasty enough to satisfy my craving for some Korean home cooking while in transit between countries. The only disappointing aspect of the meal service was that they used disposable plastic plates instead of china ones like you might enjoy at a restaurant in Seoul or Busan.

The flight attendants also took great care to present every dish as nicely as possible before serving it: They lined up all utensils next to our place settings beforehand so we knew where everything went; they carefully folded napkins into triangles; they didn't allow any part of their uniform (name tag included) touch your table or food when delivering your meal, and they exhibited excellent manners throughout our experience with them---they never rushed us through anything or acted impatient if we asked for something extra (like more water).

You may have noticed this already from earlier but I'll mention it here again: Some airlines serve alcohol from carafes placed on tables instead of from glasses being poured by flight attendants directly into them---Korean Airlines does not do this! Instead, you actually get your own bottle provided by them which has been chilled down to just below freezing temperature so it stays nice and cold even after sitting out for hours at room temperature

Service Onboard

The flight attendants were very friendly and professional. They were able to answer all questions I had about the flight and offered me water, which was nice.

The flight attendants were very attentive to passenger safety. They made sure that everyone had their seat belt on at all times, even when we weren't taking off or landing.

The flight attendants were also very attentive to passengers' needs. For example, one of them came by with a tray full of beverages for me and my friend every time we asked for something new like juice or soda instead of water (which was served before takeoff).

Inflight Entertainment & WiFi

If you're in a rush, you can get the gist of what to expect from the on-board entertainment system and Wi-Fi---both of which are top-notch. First class passengers are free to use the Wi-Fi for up to two hours in flight, and as soon as we boarded I noticed how fast it was (there were no loading screens). It's also nice that there's no limit on how much data you use; just be sure not to hog too much bandwidth by streaming videos or uploading photos.

The Korean Air business class entertainment system is excellent---it has a touchscreen remote control with lots of different categories and shows tons of movies, TV shows, music videos, games and more. I watched some Netflix shows while eating my meal one night (that's right: they have onboard movies & TV!).

Arrival Experience

Once you arrive at the gate, a representative will greet you and escort you to immigration. From there, you'll go through customs and immigration which can take about 20 minutes. At this point, if your flight is departing from Incheon or Gimpo airports in Korea, the airline provides free transportation to your hotel or residence with an appointment service called Kimnara Taxi Service.

While I was provided with a chauffeured car (a Mercedes Benz S550), some of my fellow travelers had to take public transit or Uber/Lyft back to their hotels. This wasn't what I was expecting since we landed during rush hour on a Monday evening---however, since everyone else seemed fine with it I didn't complain either!

Once I arrived at my hotel near Gangnam Station in Seoul (which was another 15 minutes by subway) I checked into my room and unpacked before heading out for dinner at one of my favorite restaurants nearby called Cook & Book that serves delicious Korean dishes like dumplings filled with pork belly meatballs as well as fried chicken served over rice topped off with spicy sauce (there is always room for food when traveling!).

Overall Experience - Korean Air Business Class

Korean Air Business Class is the best business class experience in the world. The seats are amazing, the service is excellent, and the food is mouth-watering. Korean Air has a great lounge at Incheon Airport where you can enjoy a shower before your flight or even get some rest in their sleeping area if you want to sleep an extra hour or two before your departure time. Their inflight entertainment system is also one of the best out there with tons of movies and TV shows to watch on demand as well as live television from around Asia.
